What is the difference between: boogie boarding, surfing, body boarding, and wakeboarding?

SeaSquirt asked:

Really, any type of boarding you can do in the ocean, on the waves. What are the differences between them? Which is the easiest to learn?

boogie and body boarding are the same thing, riding a wave on your belly with a sponge board. Surfing is standing up on a fiberglass board with fins for turning. Wakeboarding is easier to learn because it doesn’t involve timing with natural waves. Instead a boat pulls you of the water by a rope and you stand up with your feet strapped into board.
